Degussa To Raise Prices Of SIPERNAT® Specialty Silicas – Selected Grades Only 

PARSIPPANY, N. J., August 28, 2007 – Degussa Corporation is announcing a price increase of up to 8% for our SIPERNAT® Specialty Silicas for selected grades only, effective for shipments as of October 1, 2007.

After more than a one-year period of relative stability, we are now facing again the external pressures of rising costs for feedstock, transportation and utilities. Although Degussa Corporation has implemented measures in an attempt to mitigate these pressures, the additional costs can no longer be ignored nor absorbed.
