Evonik Degussa Corporation has 57 locations in North America – 33 manufacturing sites and 24 offices/labs/warehouses/distribution centers.
Of the corporation’s 33 manufacturing sites, 28 are in the United States and five are in Canada.
Evonik Degussa’s 24 offices/labs/warehouses/distribution centers include 13 in the United States; four in Canada; and seven in Mexico.
The Mobile (Ala.) site, with 600 employees and an average of 150 contractors, is the corporation’s largest plant with 12 production facilities and warehouses for finished products and laboratories.
Among the products produced at the site are hydrogen peroxide –- used as a bleaching agent in the paper and pulp industries; Aerosil® fumed silica – used in more than 250 products; and CHEM-TRETE® silanes – a sealant for concrete, masonry and other building products.
Mobile is often referred to as a model in the community by civic groups and the local press and contributes more than $100,000 annually to the arts, educational institutions, and charitable organizations.
Evonik Degussa’s administrative center resides in Parsippany, N.J., where more than 400 employees are based. It is also the headquarters of CYRO Industries, a leading supplier of methylmethacrylates (MMA) as well as a leader in acrylic-based monomers, polymers and sheet products. It manufactures and markets ACRYLITE® acrylic sheet and polymer products as well as methylmethacrylates in the Americas.
CYRO employs more than 670 at its manufacturing facilities in Mobile; Wallingford, Conn.; Fortier, La.; Sanford, Maine; and, Osceola, Ark. It also has research and development (R&D) facilities and sales and technical service locations in Sanford and Wallingford.
